Director of Music: Dave Shrewsbury
Dave Shrewsbury’s love of music started at his childhood church in southern West Virginia. This love turned his passion into a career and lifelong adventure which brought him to Community UMC as the pianist / organist in 2001. His weekdays are spent producing and mixing music that is heard on radio and TV stations across the country. Dave also regularly plays piano, keyboards, and Hammond B3 organ professionally for recording sessions and live concerts. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, his musical influences span a huge variety of styles, both secular and sacred, and his musical skills include not only keyboard instruments, but also guitar, bass, drums, and saxophone. Dave lives in Arlington with his wife, Allison, and their two young children.

Youth Choir: Holly Chin
Holly Chin brings more than 15 years of teaching theater and voice to her work with children and youth at Community UMC. Holly's passion is in musical theater, and she creates and runs new musical theater programs, performance groups, and workshops in metrowest Boston. Her specialty areas include audition preparation and show / performance preparation for various age groups, including college students. Holly is also the principal of State of Mind Vocals. Holly and her husband Ron have three children and live in Natick.

Pastor: Ted Crass
Rev. Ted Crass was appointed to Community UMC in July 2014 after pastoring churches in the Boston Metro area. He entered ministry after a career in the public policy and business sectors and as a consultant and mediator, including almost 10 years based in Asia and Europe. Ted also serves on the New England Conference Board of Ordained Ministry and the Board of the United Methodist Foundation of New England. Ted holds BA and MPA degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, and an MDIV from Harvard Divinity School. Ted and Sarah have two children in college and live in Wayland.
